Hello Sherry and everyone,
Add Apple TV, Max, and Disney Plus to that list. I've been telling folks for
several years now these companies need to create skills that will make it
easier for blind and others with disabilities to enable and disable
accessibility features via the device's PDA, Alexa, Google Assistant,
Microsoft Narrator, Roku Voice Assistant, Google Assistant, etc. The ability
to turn audio description on and off is something we should be able to do
using the device's PDA. It's time that the organizations of the blind demand
that these outfits add the ability to control accessibility-related
functions to their personal digital assistants. This is something that
should have been done when these devices came on the market. I've read my
share of posts from those who had trouble enabling audio description for
example. It's time something was done about it!

With Amazon Prime, Netflix and Paramount Plus, once you turn on audio
description, it stays on, so when you go back to watch something else, if
that program has AD, you'll get it. Usually, you have to start the thing you
want to watch first. After that, depending on the service, it might be under
audio setting, or it might be under close caption, with settings for AD in
there somewhere. I mostly use these services on my computer because I have
terrific speakers, but they work pretty much the same on the phone.

For Youtube TV,. the answer is yes, you can access Audio description. Make
sure however, that you have support for 5.1 channel sound turned off first.
By default on installation, it will be turned on. Go in to the Account tab,
and from there, go to the settings button. Press it and go down till you
see 5.1. Press to select than press to turn it off.
Now, when you get a channel for which you want audio description, you need
to go down till you hear "networks. Then, go left untill you hear settings.
Press this then make sure you're all the way to the left. Now, you should
see your audio options. They will be primary, secondary and so on. Make
your selection and there you go.
Note, you will need to do this every time you tune in to a channel. I can't
speak for how any of the other services work, but, I suppose they're simlar.
Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray
Still a very proud Mac, Xfinity Mobile and Apple TV user
