[Electronics-Talk] Smart scale

I have the glasstop talking scale Amazon sells.  It's pretty consistent,
though it gives a different weight if it's facing a different direction, so
I often weigh myself twice, turning it around in between. 

Is a smart scale likely to be more accurate, or is it more likely the
surface, so any scale would have the same problem?  

Is it reasonable to expect, if I bought a scale in the Fitbit store, that it
would work with my Fitbit app and therefore be accessible?
