Hi,
Roku is a separate service that I would have to change my input from hd1 to hd2 right?
So this still won't help with using direct tv, right?

Hello Sheri,
Roku streaming devices offer robust accessibility features, including a built-in screen reader and voice control capabilities, which can enhance your viewing experience without the need for a smart TV.
Roku's screen reader is a text-to-speech feature that assists users, particularly those who are blind or low vision, by reading aloud on-screen text, menus, and other interface elements.
To enable or disable the screen reader:
Press the * (Star) button on your Roku remote four times quickly.
Alternatively, navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Screen Reader, and toggle the feature on or off.
Roku devices support voice commands through compatible remotes and the Roku mobile app, allowing you to search for content, control playback, and adjust settings using your voice.
If your Roku remote has a microphone button, you can press and hold it to issue voice commands.
The Roku Voice Remote Pro offers hands-free voice control. You can simply say "Hey Roku" followed by your command.
If you're using the app, download the Roku app on your iOS or Android device. Open the app, select the remote icon, and tap the voice button to issue commands.
These features are available across all current Roku streaming devices and do not require a smart TV. By utilizing a Roku device with a compatible voice remote or the mobile app, you can access voice control and screen reader functionalities to enhance your streaming experience. Hope this helps! 😊

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] FW: Television dilemma question
Hello everyone,
Forgive me if my ignorance is showing, but I have a television technology question…
We have decided to ditch the cable and use a Roku with YouTube service. Is there a system that has Voice access to what’s displayed on the screen. If so, would I need a smart TV?
Thanks much.
