[Electronics-Talk] Braille And Speak List?

Ashley,

This is a new product from Blazie Engineering as has been mentioned and is different than the Orbit Speak. This product does not currently have a braille display.

My understanding is that this product is called the BTSpeak. It is similar to the old Braille 'n Speak in function and does not have a braille display. There are two models priced around $795 and $1,195 as I recall. The more expensive model gives one access to the Linux operating system upon which it is build giving one access to other programs that run under Linux. The less expensive unit locks one into the specific BTSpeak apps that handle many of the functions that one used to use on the old Braille 'n Speak.

I read that they shared a booth at CSUN with a braille display manufacturer and there might be some work to let it be used with a braille display, but I have no information on that.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

So glad to hear this! Dean Blazie was always good at making new, excellent products at a reasonable price.
