[Electronics-Talk] Fully Accessible 40-inch TVs

There is no TV 40 inches or smaller I am aware of that is totally
accessible right out of the box.  Many sets present a welcome screen
when they are plugged in for the first time from which the default
language must be selected.  On my Samsung 32 inch smart TV, there is no
way to turn on speech before the default language has been chosen from
the onscreen welcome menu.  And there is no keystroke combination on the
remote that I could find that turns on speech, which for me is useless
anyway, because almost all functions are controlled by the cable box and
not by the TV itself.  To turn on speech requires navigating a series of
onscreen menus, which would require sighted help initially.  And many
new TV's have so many jacks and connectors on the rear panel that it
would be next to impossible for a blind consumer to identify them
without sighted help.
