I use Notepad on Windows a lot for writing anything from short notes to
writing presentations I'll be reading. It's very simple, but it does the
job for me.

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] setting up reminders, alarms, and sharing short
notes on windows platforms
Hello all,
There are many software programs out there for reminders and other
productivity tasks like short notes for lists and setting alarms.
Which ones do you use that are accessible on the pc side? I am a screen
reader user usually on Windows 10 for the pc. I tried the alarm and timer
feature built in on Windows and it did not seem real accessible. It took
many tab hits to find the right time to set a timer and I never figured out
how to do an alarm.
Windows has something called Sticky notes. Anyone used that?
Is there a built in app or one you can install that will allow you to jot
down short notes in a list format and sentences? What about recording quick
notes as well?
The IPad has a notes app as well as a reminders app. It also has the voice
memos app for short audio notes.
I use my pc, either desktop or laptop, much more often though and want ways
to do similar things on here.
Does Windows PCS and tablets have ways to set alarms, reminders and to do
tasks?
Is this accessible to screen readers?
Please tell me which app or software you use if you do this.
I know on the IPad you can set reminders and they pop up at certain times
and its there till you dismiss them.
The IPAD also has a timer and alarm function that I found out that you can
set up with Siri.
I'm hoping something similar is there for the pc.
Ideally, I'd also like to share notes and reminders with another Windows
user. Maybe One Note might work?
I did try the built in timer on windows which seems clunky so far.
I also have the Microsoft desktop suite of applications including Microsoft
Outlook. I thought learning to set appointments in it might be helpful.
Is Outlook's calendar and tasks feature a big learning curve?
I'm thinking and hoping there might be another app that is easier than using
the desktop Outlook app.
Thanks.
Ashley
