Hello Robert –
It’s tough to get started when you first become blind. Since it sounds like you have been diagnosed by a doctor, you should be able to apply for the national library service for the blind and printed disabled. They have an enormous quantity of books from all genres, including blindness in their collection. I don’t know what state you’re in, but if you contact whatever organization it is available in your state that would probably help you a lot. Also, if you look on the National Federation Of The Blind website, you should be able to find your local NFB chapter, which will also help you a lot.
Congratulations on taking the first step to your adjustment!
Best wishes,
Dian
