 I will answer parts. I wouldn’t want in essence a finger sensor or for it  to have some kind of a back up in case that fails. I got mine too long ago, yet it has a raised keypad that beeps. I changed it , To make an easier combination for me and possibly the thieves. For some reason it drains the 9 V battery, so I have that nearby and install it when I get into it a couple times a year. Maybe something big to think about is putting A go bag in there which has all of your documents, irreplaceable photos, money etc. in case something happens. Also, please put it in a place not common for the thieves to look. I have mine turned backwards in the cleaning and junk room with the mops, storing cleaning supplies and dirty rags on top.
