Thanks Gerald. This does look nice, and it's on sale at QVC. I was all ready to buy it, but I can't find any info at all about its bake function, and the user guide says that only the basket and crisper plate can be used for cooking. The whole user guide focusses on the air fryer, and not the baking. I've looked at all the documentation and on the website, but can't even find a place to ask the manufacturer. It's frustrating.
Back to looking at other possibilities.
Tracy

Another good choice would be the Emerson6 in 1 smart oven model 5503, which can air fry as well as reheat leftovers and has built-in voice command capability. This unit, which costs about $130, has been discussed on other lists and was apparently designed to be blind-friendly:

here is more information provided by Chat-GPT:

The main reason an *Emerson Smart “oven” (specifically their SmartVoice air fryer/oven-style appliance)* is considered a strong choice for blind or visually impaired users comes down to *accessibility-first design*, especially its voice interface.

Here’s what makes it particularly suitable:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

      1. Full voice control (no need to see buttons)

  * The appliance supports *1,000+ voice commands* to control cooking
    functions.
  * You can say things like:
      o “Start air fry”
      o “Increase temperature”
o “How much time is left?”
  * This eliminates reliance on touchscreens or small labels, which are
often barriers for visually impaired users.

👉 In practical terms: you can operate the oven *without looking at it at all*.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

      2. Spoken feedback (two-way interaction)

  * The device doesn’t just take commands—it *talks back*, giving
updates like time remaining or temperature.

👉 This is huge for accessibility: instead of checking a display, users can *hear status updates in real time*.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

      3. Hands-free operation improves safety

  * Cooking appliances can be risky if you need to feel around for
    controls.
  * With voice commands, users don’t need to:
      o Touch hot surfaces unnecessarily
o Fumble for buttons with greasy or wet hands
  *

  *
