Good evening,
Here is what is going on with the fabulous Florida Association of
Blind Students!
Events & Activities
• -Are you curious to learn more or know of someone that may like to
know what FABS is all about? Then you and your friends should join us
tomorrow at 4pm for the FABS Interest call! Dial in number is (605)
475-4000, access code 123157#
• -Are you interested in making a difference in a youth’s life by
becoming a mentor? Or could you use a little guidance or benefit from
being linked to an individual that may be able to give enlightenment
on school matters, job seeking, etc.? If you answered yes to either of
these questions, then please contact Brianna Scerensko at
bfs1206 at gmail.com, to sign up for a mentor or to become a mentor.
• -Would you like to have some input and/or help select the location &
activities for the FABS extravaganza? Then you should join the
extravaganza planning committee. There will be a committee call held
August 29th at 7:00pm. For more details or if you would like to be a
part of this committee, send an e-mail to nfbfabs at gmail.com
• -Is advocating a part of your nature? Do you have an interest in
spreading the word about what it really means to be a blind
individual? Then you should join the “meet the Blind Month” project
committee. A committee call will take place on September 8th at
4:00pm. For more details contact Brianna Scerensko at
bfs1206 at gmail.com.
• -Will you be in or near the Tampa, Florida area on October 28th? If
so, come join FABS in hosting a bowl-a-thon at Pin Chasers! For more
details e-mail nfbfabs at gmail.com.
• -If your schedule is free on October 5-7 & you like enhancing your
skills, then you should join us in attending Georgia’s “You Improving
You” seminar in Atlanta, Georgia. More details will be posted in the
very near future.
