So glad you got out there and voted! I hope all others do the same.
 
Glad to hear that you had a good experience. And yes, there are actually several different types of machines out there that will allow you to vote without a reader. The type of machine depends on your county. Here in Hillsborough county (Tampa) we use a machine called the automark. It has audio features for those who cannot use any print and contrast for those who are low-vision. It is really a neat tool.
 
Perhaps you will get the chance to try one out in future elections. Also, just so you are aware, all counties are required by law to have some version of the machines to make voting accessible. It is also required that one be at every voting presinct. So don't let your county tell you different.

On Monday I voted in this year's Presidential election for the first time.  I had a human reader read the ballot to me.  I did not know that there are machines that allow you to vote independently.  My voting experience went well.
