Subject: [NABS-L] Clew Navigation App Looking for Feedback
Hello NABS!
I am reaching out regarding an innovative indoor navigation app called Clew developed by Professor Paul Ruvolo and a group of students at Olin College of Engineering. This summer we are working to improve the app by gaining feedback from its users. We are interested in learning about your experiences and feedback to better improve the app. We would love to schedule a 30 – minute interview over the phone or zoom to hear what you have to say.
Along with gaining feedback we are also excited to launch the Clew Co-design program. The purpose of this program is for the Clew team to collaborate with the community to design better technology for orientation and mobility. Today we are looking for a relatively small group of co-designers (15 folks in total), but in the future we hope to expand the program to more participants. Some basic details of the program are included. Here is a link to the full details of the program <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EPGv1F72keb7KTUrmpK3SHTK9IFeyTNdHeUktiHlrOQ/edit?usp=sharing> if you’d like to learn more, and here is a link to the program application form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeFSrt87g7UbD05zrXGkPT2xuIK6EEwTgy_Yx16jkamLM56Qw/viewform> if you’d like to apply to participate. Note that there is compensation available to you for participating in the program (among other benefits), so please read on for more details.
Program announcement:
Are you interested in learning more about the research and development of assistive technologies? Do you enjoy trying out and testing new technologies like mobile apps and wearables? Would you like to explore careers in digital accessibility, design and software development? If you’ve answered YES, then we invite you to apply to the Clew Co-design Program - a five-week program that will immerse you into the research, development and creation of mobile apps that are helping people who are blind and low-vision navigate and explore their surroundings.
This program is much more than just user-testing in a lab. The Clew Co-Designer program provides a five-week learning experience for you to explore career areas in digital technologies.
Lastly, if you have any questions please reach out and ask.
Thank you in advance,
Lizzy Cappelli
Clew Co-design Team
