Monthly Meeting Minutes
September 17, 2023
 
-       Meeting began at 6:05 pm.
-        Roll Call: All were in attendance except Jannik Pesch and Christine Copley.
-        one minute message
-        Pledge was recited.
-        It was announced Jannik Pesch has resigned as President and Z’Leah will serve as interm President until the upcoming election.
-        Secretary’s Report
Last month’s report was written by Z’Leah.

Sewar motioned to accept the report. Elijah seconded. All were in favor.

-        Treasurer’s Report

Treasury Report for 8/21/2023 – 9/16/2023

Balance at beginning of period: $3,501.58

Money spent: $200.

-$175 to Sabrina Simmons for body butters for fundraising at state convention

-$25 paid for table to be used at state convention

Balance as of 9/16/2023: $3,301.58

Note: Treasurer, Meliora Hatcher, is holding $10 in membership dues. Once this is transferred, the new

balance will be $3,311.58)

Note: Vice president, Z’Leah Liburd, paid for hotel room for FABS for state convention out of pocket for

$395. A reimbursement will need to be made to her.

Tom motioned to accept the report. Yassir seconded. All were in favor.

Veronica motioned to reimburse Z’Leah. Sewar seconded. All were in. favor.

-        Marketing Report:

Veronica stated the exhibit hall table will be Barbie themed, based off the new film. She explained that flyers are in the works. In addition, posts will be made on social media to introduce.

The current items in the basket were provided:

Publix gift card $50.

A request to purchase additional basket items was and door prizes put forward.

Red solo cups.

Amount requested: $137.

Tom motioned to accept the request. Meli seconded. All were in favor.

-        Review of the Constitution and the potential amendments: Yassir and Z’Leah.

Exhibit Adjustments were made, and a final draft of the changes will be sent through the listserv.

-        Hall/ Fundraising

Exhibit hall will be open on Saturday from 12-6pm.
What we are going to fundraise.
a.      Celling chocolates
b.      Veterans Give Back
c.      Cell home-made body butter for 5 dollars a jar.
Exhibit hall table will need volunteers. A volunteer sheet will be sent Via email.
-        It was decided FABS’ members will wear the color red at convention.
-        student Social
Options for food was discussed. The discussion included pizza and Olive Garden. A choice will be made depending on the budget.
 
-        Student Business Meeting:

Will be on Saturday October 7th from 2:45-4:15.

It was agreed there was not enough time for a guest speaker to talk on self-care.

Reminder that all positions are up and to keep in mind what positions members would want.

-        Adjournment

Swar motioned to adjourn meeting. Yassir seconded. All were in favor.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:44 pm.
