Here are the minutes from the July 28th meeting. As always, please met me

FABS Monthly Meeting Minutes

July 21, 2024

The meeting was called to order at  6:05 PM by Z’Leah

All board members were present except Tom.

There were 4 members in attendance.

Christian, Bella, Romario, Natalie

NFB Pledge by Jose at 6:06 PM

One minute message by Z’Leah at 6:07 PM

The secretary’s report, which was done at 6:12pm, was tabled as we did not
have a meeting on June 16, but the meeting minutes from the May 19th
meeting were sent out. Jose made a motion to approve the minutes, Christian
seconds. All were in favor.

Treasurer’s report (May 2024) 6:15pm

Beginning Balance: $1,089.58

$850 reimbursed Elijah Grant for the rental of a room at the 2024 NFB
National Convention

$196.08 reimbursed to Jose Bohorquez for attendance at the 2024 NFB
Leadship Seminar

$42 remibursed to Z’Leah Liburd for the Hugging Hands pillow donated to
NABS Washington Seminar fundraiser

$50 in donations

Ending Balance: $1,962.68

Christian made a motion to accept the treasurer's report for May, with Jose
seconding. All were in favor.

Treasurer’s Report (Jume 2024) 6:18pm

Beginning Balance: $1,962.68

$176 reimbursed to Jose Bohorquez for a room at National Convention

$75 reimbursed to Meilora Hatcher for gift cards to winners at FABS game
night

$6 in donations

Ending Balance: $1,717.50

Jose made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report for June, with Elijah
seconding. All were in favor.

How was the National Convention? What was the best part of Convention?

Christian made new connections and enjoyed President Riccobono.

Z’Leah went to the Chocolate Kingdom and learned how to be patient.

Jose learned about weird things about AI. He also likes the band.

Natalie also liked the band, but she learned about dealing with blind
people and gaining insights.

At 6:29pm, we discussed the World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser and wanted
to know if this would be something to do again.

Yassir thought it was good, but couldn’t have attracted older people
instead of younger ones, but it was good. He stated that the body butter
were good, but people had kept asking him about it being natural.

Z’Leah said the overall but location could have been better.

NAB Mid-Atlantic Seminar announcement

Dates: August 16-18

Location: Jernigan Institute, 200 Wells St. Baltimore, MD, 21230

Registration- $100

The nearest airport is Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI),
about 10 miles. You ave several options to get from the airport including
Uber/Lyft, or taking the Light Rail Link from Airport to Downtown Baltimore
and catching the City Link Silver Bus, then walking 4 minutes.

Deadline: August 2

At 6:50pm, there was some discussion about State Convention. Meli will be
looking over the basket committee with Natalie, Bella and Chistian showing
interest.

 Christian made a motion to adjourn the meeting Elijah seconded the motion

At  7:05 PM, the meeting was adjourned.
