FABS Monthly Meeting Minutes

September 15, 2024

The meeting started at 6:07pm

Role call by Z’leah at 6:07pm

Pledge by Yassir at 6:08pm

Ice Breaker question: If you can switch places with anyone else, who would
it be?

The Secretary’s report, done at 7:28pm was sent out by email.

Yassir makes a motion to accept the motion as read. Christian seconds.

All were in favor.

Treasurer’s Report

Beginning Balance: 1,7760.38

$50 to the NFB Florida Affiliate as a donation

$374.20 received

Ending Balance: 2,084.58

Christian makes a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, Elijah seconds.

All were in favor.

Basket Committee Report by Meli at 6:25pm


Elijah makes a motion to reimburse a total of $87 ($29 to Yassir and $58 to
Meli) for various items. Christian seconded. All were in favor

Chirstian makes a motion to allocate $50 for door prizes. Yassir seconded

All were in favor.

Pledging to the affiliate at 6:34pm

We plan to pledge $20 to the affiliate every month.

Elijah makes a motion to pledge $240 to the Affiliate. Yassir seconds. All
were in favor.

Selling at the table/managing the table at  6:40pm

We plan to give away an Echo Show as well as guessing how much candy is in
a jar.

Yassir makes a motion to allocate $80 to purchase an Amazon Echo Show,
Christian seconds. All were in favor.

Room Accomandation and assignments at 7:00pm

Josh Oliukami is the NABS Rep and is the second ice president of the
National Association of Blind Students.

They ask to go to any student-related events, as well as the general
sessions.

Student Social planning at 7:06pm

We plan to do Publix for catering. We plan to do a verbal game as well.

FABS Election Reminder at 7:20pm

Announcements from the affiliate at 7:21pm

Yassir made a motion to adjourn the meeting Christian seconded.

The meeting ended at 7:29pm
