Well hello again everyone,
Please forgive me, as I had send out an email regarding the meeting
minutes, but i had forgotten to paste them below this message, unitil now.
Sorry about that.

FABS Monthly Meeting Minutes

July 20th, 2025

6:13pm Role call

   -

   All board members were present:
   -

      President Z’Leah Liburd
      -

      Vice President Jose Bohorquez
      -

      Treasurer Natalie Williams
      -

      Secretary Elijah Grant

      Board Member 1 Meliora Hatcher

      Board Member 2 Romario Blake

   There are 10 members, including:

      Florida’s NFB National Scholarship winner Katiana Elena

      Dominic Martinez

      Camile Tate

      Tangi Yonce


6:14 PM Pledge

The NFB Pledge was read by Jose.

6:15 PM Belief Statement

The belief statement was skipped.

6:18 PM Agenda Review

The agenda was read.

6:21 PM Secretary’s Report

This was sent out on July 18th. Jose made a motion to accept the
secretary’s report as emailed; Natalie seconds. All were in favor.

6:22 PM Treasurer’s Report

Beginning Balance for June: $1,321.59
Money Spent: $70

   -

   $50 second place prize  of the MK1 Tournament,
   -

   $20 monthly pledge.

Money Received: $48.81

   -

   $18.81 MK1 Tournament
   -

   $30 donation for the 2nd Place Prize of the MK1 Tournament.

Ending Balance: $1300.49

Elijah makes a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read; Niklas
seconds. All were in favor.

6:24 PM Committee ReportsFundraising Committee

City Pop Fundraising will occur from August 1st through 31st; They are also
working on a fundraiser at State Convention.
Membership committee updates

There plans to be a social event in the second Saturday of August.

6:32 PM Constitution ReadingARTICLE IV – MEMBERSHIP

   -

   Section One – Membership Rights: changing visually impaired to low
   vision; membership agrees with amendment for the second time
   -

   Section Two – Minimum Requirements: changing visually impaired to low
   vision; membership agrees with amendment for the second time

Article V - OFFICERS AND DUTIES

   -

   Section One - Officers and Elections: clarifying the new election
   process; all terms will be two years; only one board member; president and
   secretary elected in even years; vice president, secretary, and board
   member 1 elected in odd years; membership agrees with amendment for the
   second time
   -

   Section Two – Duties: making the word board singular; membership agrees
   with amendment for the second time

Article VI - MEETINGS

   -

   Section Two – Special Meetings: removing gendered language; membership
   agrees with amendment for the second time

ARTICLE VII – COMMITTEES

   -

   removing gendered language; membership agrees with amendment for the
   second time

ARTICLE VIII – DUES

   -

   Defining the term calendar year; changing remit to pay; membership
   agrees with amendment for the second time

ARTICLE IX– FUNDS AND FINANCING

   -

   Updating the article to note that digital payment platforms must be
   approved by NFBF and NFB; amendment must be corrected and will be read
   again in August

ARTICLE X – DISSOLUTION

   -

   Clarifying the process; changing national federation of the blind to
   national federation of the blind of Florida; membership agrees with
   amendment for the second time

ARTICLE XI – AMENDMENTS

   -

   Reclarifying the amendment process; membership agrees with amendment for
   the second time


7:12 PM Adjournment

Jose motioned the adjourn the meeting, Natalie seconded. All were in favor.
The meeting ended at 7:12pm.

constitution.
