People that favor same sex unions tend not to be very good students of history.  Ancient Greece and Rome both experienced similar breakdowns in society as their civilizations.  You also need to look at actuarial data and those tables indicate that those who engage in alternative lifestyles tend to live 10 to 15 years less than a similarly in tact married couple. I agree with Alan Wheeler in that we hate the sin  but not the sinner.
