Father;
   As an amiture Catholic writer and science nerd I am also interested in Christian sci-fi. I extend my interest to fantasy and am currently working on a small fleet of projects along those lines. If your schedule and work load allow I would be greatful for feedback on these projects, from a spiritual perspective.

Thank you
Frank

I checked our library and we have a lot of C.S. Lewis (including all 7 of the Narnia books) but not the trilogy. I've put them in the queue.

I know Fr. Greeley - the books of his I have read are easy reading but fairly formulaic - a little like Dick Francis, except that instead of horse racing, Greeley keeps his characters dancing around the world of Church. Several of the "christian" authors I have tried get preachy - and (uncharitably) I'd have to say that were it not for the christian emphasis, the books probably wouldn't be published at all. I want a good book (lower case) and if it can also present elements of the Good Book (upper case) so much the better.

Dear Father John,
Thank you for your understanding.
I am chuckling, wondering what you think of Andrew Greeley's
books.
I do like the Blackie Ryan books. I'm not quite as taken with
the ones about the Irish folk singer, Nula.
Inthe past, it seemed to me that some Christian books were
feather weights, such as Janette Oakes. Karen Kingsbury is more
contemporary. She is still on the light side, but perhaps with a
bit more plot development.
Mary P.S. On another topic. We are not doing Kernel books as
such, but maybe some literature about the things people do to
serve their faith communities would help. I think it was Jim
Omvig who had an artile inthe Monitor once.
