some time ago, someone on here requested a German Bible in accessible 
format.  this was actually the reason that brought me back to this 
list after a long absense.

while my native language is German,  the language I read the bible 
and pray in is English. thus I did not know of too many German 
resources at the time.

I just came across a free resource for a German audio Bible at

this ministry provides fre audio bibles to qualifying blind and print 
impaired individuals worldwide.

the German Bible translation offered is the

Schlachter 2000

in both the Old and New Testaments. the schlachter 2000 is a modern 
and readable but conservative translation from what I heard.
