[Faith-talk] Holiness, or legalism?

I may be 22 years old, but I've had experiences in my life.
I've had to go through things, and I know that if it wasn't for my
holiness upbringing, my life would be messed up, pretty bad.
I thank God for my heritage.
Yes, we should read our Bibles, and I'm not saying that Wesley, and
Finny are infallible, but their commentary on scripture, is amazing.
We used their commentaries, in our Bible studies, in the Quaker church
I was raised in.
The problem with the Quakers, and the difference between them, and
Apostolic Pentecostals, is that the Quakers legislate holiness.
We, as Apostolics, (in my church, anyway,) demonstrate it.
We won't tell you, how to dress, when you first come in.
You repent, you're baptized in Jesus name, and receive the Holy Ghost.
Then, God leads you, through the people in the church.
You see how they dress, and act, and you submit to the leadership, and
follow the example that they are giving you.
I remember my great-aunt, Kathy Mitchell.
She smoked, and cut her hair.
When she got the Holy Ghost, it wasn't too long, that she quit
smoking, and she doesn't cut her hair, anymore.
It's because God dealt with her, and she followed the example.
We shouldn't legislate holiness, we should demonstrate it.
The only reason why I bring holiness up, is to give scripture for why
we do certain things.
May God bless you, Sister Jeanette.
