    I totally agree.
In my church, we sing strictly songs from the hymnal.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with those songs.
We just need more of a variety.
But I can see why these old hymns are the only thing we sing.
It's because all we have are older people, like in their 60's.
I need to come visit your church, Joshua.

Hi, it's Joshua Lester.
Last night, I attended a youth "Back to School ralley."
My pastor preached for it, but the worship was something that I didn't like.
I felt out of place, because all of the songs were contemporary.
I know the older contemporary worship songs, but they sang the newer
songs, that came out, after I left the Assemblies of God.
I only recognized the last song, that was sung during the altar service.
I only know the older hymns.
I think it would be better, if we had a balance, between traditional,
and contemporary.
Our church has a balance.
We sing Southern Gospel hymns, traditional African American Gospel
music, and CCM.
I also sing my original songs, which is a blend of all 3 styles,
accompanied with occasional Bluegrass.
I also like the Hebraic worship.
Some of those songs are, "When the Spirit of the Lord, comes upon my
heart, I'll dance, like David danced," "Havenu Shalom Allechim,"
"Sound the alarm," etc.
I don't sing those much, at my Apostolic church, but we sang them in the AG.
How are your services?
The only way, that you can keep from offending people, in the worship
services, is to incorperate what everyone wants to hear.
Blessings, Joshua
