for pete's sake, is cutting your hair a condition of salvation in your 
opinion, seems ridiculous to me all this discussion of hair cutting and 
wearing pants, my grandmother who was the strongest and most devoted 
christian i knew  cut her hair and wore pants from time to time

Did you read Paul's sayings about this, in 1 Corinthians 11?
Women didn't ever cut their hair, until the 1920's.
This was when "Bobbed Hair," became popular.
