[Faith-talk] my intro

I started going to church as a child and I attended the Catholic Church. When I left home I started visiting other c hurches and I became a believer in 1978 at a Billy Graham crusade. I now go to Calvary Chapel whose origin is in California. I love the church and my pastor reads the Bible line by line and verse by verse. The people seem to have accepted me and I am glad I go to that church. I also went to public school as a child. I have more sighted friends than I do blind friends. Blessings to you

  Karen,
Well, its good to be on list too. What church or religious place are you
  with?
I grew up Methodist which has its routes with John Wesley. He started
building the church with small camp meetings and it grew into something more
  organized.

I did a lot of church activities in that church; I felt that the adults
treated me more fairly than the other students; same with going to public
school so it didn't surprise me.
I joined the church as a teen like all other youth. It was confirmation. My
brothers did it too. There were confirmation classes before we joined but I
don't remember what we learned or studied. In college I continued my
Christian journey through Bible study. But
I couldn't read the bible with them so I listened as I did in Sunday school.
I couldn't take a braille bible because as you know, the bible is so big it
  takes up a whole closet.

They usually remembered to read to me, or I asked someone to do so. Usually
though, they all read; like person A read five verses and person B read
  another five, etc.

So I've had many ways to join in Christian fellowship.

HI there Josh, My name is Karin and I want to thank God for being on this
list. I hope and pray this list grows and that we can have discussions
about things and not as many devotions, although some of them are quite
  good. Blessings to you
