Overcoming a Sense of Hopelessness

Father, as Your child I boldly come before Your throne of grace that I
may receive mercy and find grace to help in this time of need.

Father, I know that Your ears are open to my prayers. I ask that You
listen to my prayer, O God, and hide not Yourself from my supplication! I
ask that You attend to me and answer me, for I am restless and distraught
in my complaint and must moan. Fear and trembling have come upon me; horror
and fright have overwhelmed me.

Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Yes, I
would wander far away; I would lodge in the wilderness. I would hasten to
escape and to find a shelter from the stormy wind and tempest.

I am calling upon You, my God, to rescue me. You redeem my life in peace
from the battle of hopelessness that is against me. I cast my burden on
You, Lord, [releasing the weight of it], and You sustain me; You will never
allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall or
fail).

Hopelessness lies in wait for me to swallow me up or trample me all day
long. What time I am afraid, I will have confidence in and put my trust and
reliance in You. By [Your help], God, I will praise Your Word; on You I
lean, rely and confidently put my trust; I will not fear.

You know my every sleepless night. Each tear and heartache is answered
with Your promise. I am thanking You with all my heart. You pulled me from
the brink of death, my feet from the cliff-edge of doom. Now, I stroll at
leisure with You in the sunlit fields of life.

[What, what would have become of me], Lord, had I not believed that I
would see Your goodness in the land of the living! I wait and hope for and
expect You; I am brave and of good courage, and I let my heart be stout and
enduring. Yes, I wait for and hope for and expect You.

Father, I give You all my worries and cares, for You are always thinking
about me and watching everything that concerns me. I am well balanced and
careful - vigilant, watching out for attacks from Satan, my great enemy. By
Your grace I am standing firm, trusting You, and I remember that other
Christians all around the world are going through these sufferings too.
You, God, are full of kindness through Christ and will give me Your eternal
glory.

In the name of Jesus I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and by
the word of my testimony. Amen.
