Yes, you can keep each issue. Interestingly the devotional is also free to
sighted readers as well. Paul

Hi Paul,
To clarify, you said ODB braille version is from Helping Hands Ministry
right?
Also, do you get to keep the braille copy?
Glad to know its free, but if I used them, I'd make a donation since I know
it costs money to produce it.

Ashley, I don't know if anyone else replied to this message as I have a
bunch of messages, but Our Daily Bread is absolutely free but, like other
non-profit organizations, donations are welcome but not necessary. ODB
contains the devotional, the Scripture reading for a particular day with the
reading printed out in the NKJV and usually an Insight, something that is
not usually found in the print edition. In short, you get what the sighted
readership has, with the extra bonus of the Insight for that particular day.

Paul,
Thanks, I do live on the east coast and I can call long distance.
No, I don't know much about Our daily Bread. I did check the site where its
from www.odb.org but it only referenced a print magazine they send you.
What types of things are in that devotional? Its sent monthly, right? But
does it have certain things to read each day, or is it more like a magazine
where you pick and choose the articles?

You say its produced from another source. Do they charge? Its okay if they
do, provided its not like hundreds a year.
I think I found the Helping hands braille ministry online; they produce a
number of braille books for purchase, if we're talking about the same thing.
That is another good ministry to the blind and vision impaired.

Ashley

Ashley, Decision is available in Braille, as I stated previously. If you
live in the U.S. call the toll-free number I gave in a prior message. And
yes, I agree with you that for those of us who are competent braille readers
that Braille is the only way to process devotional materials. Are you
familiar with Our Daily Bread in Braille? It's produced by Helping Hands
Braille Ministries, a division of Source of Light Ministries International
out of Madison Georgia. If you have unlimited long distance you can call
them at 706-342-0397 or email the person in charge of the Braille edition of
ODB at bwatson1122 at gmail.com. I personally know Brother Ben Watson, and if
you mention my name, Paul Smith, it might expedite the delivery of ODB. If
I had your postal address, would be more than glad to send you one or more
back issues of the devotional so you could look at it and decide for
yourself if you want to get it for free. Please email me off list at
oilofgladness47 at gmail.com with that info and, as soon as I can get an
envelope that would fit the mag and someone to address it, will send it to
you. Your Christian brother, Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for these resources. I've been thinking of getting an audio bible and
Braille Bibles International
has audio, braille, and large print bibles.

As for the devotional, I went to the links, and it only talked about giving
out bibles.
If they produce it in braille, it wasn't posted.
Tape ministries said they were a lending library of books; they might still
have the magazine though.

Even if they don't, they look like good resources.

I prefer braille instead of other formats. Audio just isn't the same, as
reflective, especially for religious material.
I'll check into these resources so far and see which ones have braille and
audio formats.

I know Decision is provided by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association;
Guideposts is from another source.

Also check out

http://www.reachingtheblind.info

There are just too many resources to list, but these should be helpful.

  Hi Ashley,

Last I knew, the Upper Room was available in hard
copy braille, and so is the Methodist hymnal.

There are also translations of the Bible in .brf
format, if you want to carry it with you in your BraillenNote.

AG brailled Experiencing God a few years ago, so
that's available as well, if you want a good Bible study.

Beth Moor is on line, and she's very good as well.

  Blessings,
