[Faith-talk] Center for the blind was some bible history booksfrom BARD

Yes, it was a print version we found on amazon. Apparently the book is
out of print. We don't have a huge library. I believe all of our book
lists are available in Word docs so I could email them to you if you
would like. They are not totally up to date. The ladies do that every
few months and plan to do it again in January.

Paul,
How large is your library? I still have a cassette player, so past
recorded books from NLS or any other source can be heard.
You said the book is on Amazon; I assume you mean in print. I'll check
there.
I'm glad you explained some of your ministry to us.

Thanks.
Ashley

Ashley, we are mostly a lending library. Most of our books are on
cassette, with braille being second. However, for the past few years we
have been recording books in MP3 in preparation for the converting to
the NLS system. We hope to be lending books on the cartridge by
mid-2012. Until then, the mp3 books are let on CD. Most people
download them to their PC or book reader like the Victor. We also have
a number of books in digital text.
I did find Overcoming Loneliness on Amazon. Because most of our readers
take time off this time of the year, it probably will not be in the
library till February.
If you are would like to borrow it, if you check with me md December, we
will probably have a better idea of the timeline.

Paul!
So does your ministry record books for free? Its fine in cassette or
digital; I just want a competent human reader doing it!
The book is Overcoming Lonelyness by David Jeremiah. More info is at
www.davidjeremiah.org. It goes with his radio series.

I'll try and call the ministry to discuss further.

Greetings, Ashley and all!
I don't get on here much because of time, but often spot read some of
the posts. This ministry would be very interested in recording
"Overcoming Loneliness". Can you tell me the author? There are several
books with a similar title.
We are currently strategically rebuilding our library in digital formats
as cassettes are moving to extinction. Loneliness is a very relevant
topic, not just for the Blind.

Felicia,
I think if there is literature or a book you want to read, buy it, and
send it to be audio recorded.
Check with one of the ministries like Tape Ministries or Spoken word
Ministries and see if they'll record it.

I found Living in a Chaotic World by David Jeremiah on
www.christianaudio.com but there is another I want to read too of his
called Overcoming Loneliness which is not recorded; so I'm going to look
for places to get it recorded.

Thanks for the information Ashley and that is so true. We don't have
literature that is accessible for us.
