[Faith-talk] Please Pray For My Friend Gwen Beavers and Blind Medicaid Recipients in Missouri

Hello and good day to you all, my fellow Christians and saints of the Most High God.  The undersigned has two prayer requests for this group, each one being treated in a separate paragraph.

My friend Gwen Beavers from Charlottesville Virginia has, for some time, been battling ovarian cancer, currently at the Stage IV level.  She just recently completed her second round of chemotherapy and is now taking Taxol and one other drug to bring her tumor marker down.  Please pray that God will either remove the cancer according to His will and good pleasure, or that He will provide her the strength to cope with it.  Fortunately she has several things going for her, a supportive husband Henderson, her church who is behind her all the way and the support team at her local cancer center. On Gwen's and Henderson's behalf, I thank you for your prayers, as I know they will be appreciated.  The undersigned met her and Henderson at the 2009 National Church Conference of the Blind gathering in Richmond, and they were very gracious hosts.

This past Saturday night NCCB list members received an email from Mary Pendleton, a board member, stating that someone introduced a bill into the Missouri House which would effectively cut off funding for all blind Missourians who receive Medicaid.  Please pray that this proposed legislation won't go far, as it would be disastrous if it becomes law.  On behalf of all blind Missourians affected, I thank you for your prayers.
