Hello and good evening to you all, at least to those of us residing in North America. I hope and pray that, as you retire for the night, that you will feel yourselves, individually and collectively, wrapped in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, His Son the Lord Jesus Christ and all of us who love us so much. I'd like to present to you the words of a Gospel song whose words and music were written by B.B. McKinney (1886-1952), a Baptist minister. Perhaps many of you aren't familiar with this song, but it is sure popular among members of the National Church Conference of the Blind as witnessed to by the undersigned at its annual conventions in Richmond VA (2009), Indianapolis (2010 and Cleveland OH (2011). The name of the song is entitled "Have Faith in God," and was written in 1934. May you be blessed by these words, because they sure make me very emotional when I read them.
Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely,
He sees and knows all the way you have trod;
Never alone are the least of His children;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
Refrain:
Have faith in God, He's on his throne;
Have faith in God, He watches o'er His own;
He cannot fail, He must prevail;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
Have faith in God when your pray'rs are unanswered,
Your earnest plea He will never forget;
Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient,
Have faith in God, He'll answer yet.
Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow,
His heart is touched with your grief and despair;
Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him,
And leave them there, oh, leave them there.
Have faith in God tho all else fail about you;
Have faith in God, He provides for His own;
He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish,
He rules, he reigns upon His throne.
May these simple words written some 78 years ago minister to you as they did and still do for me. And now, let us all go to sleep with the assurance that, in the words of Fanny Crosby: "Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine." Your Christian brother, Paul Barnabas
