[Faith-talk] being healed from blindness

Is this because you go to a conservative non denominational church?
We have a huge church which is conservative. They do the stuff you 
described. They have a transportation ministry, but I don't know the extent 
it runs.
Lots of classes for all sorts of people, have a counseling ministry, support 
groups, groups for men and women,
and also a lot of outreach ministries.
However, due to their stand on marriage, gay lifestyle, and wishing to 
evangilize people
from the Great commission command, it has put some people off including 
criticism from liberal newspapers.
It’s the same church Dad and I went to for a few years.
I am a moderate believer politically and spiritually; so I don't agree with 
all the preacher says.
I did like the music and most of the preaching; it was like hearing a mini 
concert.

My biggest issue with this conservative evangelical church was that they
showed movies which I did not know what it was about sometimes, and they had 
a screen with the  notes for the service. The screen had everything from 
event announcements at the beginning, to sermon notes, to words to songs.
Obviously, I could not access this. I tried to find a point of contact to 
get it in alternate format through the access ministry, the minstry for 
people with disabilities, but was not successful.
Perhaps if I go back, I'll try again and be more persistant.

So I have mixed feelings about churches.

Moreene, our Churches sound very simular in many ways. The thing is, though
our church has programs like yours, and has the only church with a bus
ministry that goes around the intire city to pick up and drop off children,
our church comes under atack for being too much of a light in our town, we
have an extremely libral news paper that hates our Church, but at the same
time, our church bends over backwards to do so much for our intire state. We
have so many programs for those in need, classes every week for adiction
problems, PTSD, vetrin programs, widow asistance and on and on, but we take
Biblical posissions very seriously when it comes to marriage, preaching the
word and living out the great comission and it has rubbed plenty of people
the wrong way, that is until they spend some time at the Church and feel the
love and community that is there.
