When it comes to the apocryphal or deuterocanonical books of the Bible, keep
in mind that the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament,
contained them, and thus those disciples who were literate could read them.
What a great many Christians don't know is that James's treatise on the
tongue in chapter 4 of his book was based on Ecclesiasticus 28. If you have
that book, compare the two and you'll find many similarities. Also Daniel's
confession in chapter 9 of his book parallels very closely Baruch's
confession in chapter 1 of his book. Again, if you have the
deuterocanonical books, compare those also. Paul
