Hi
The sad thing is that if it were just what you said it would be so beautiful
but some denominations believe that the infant baptism gives eternal life
and I don't believe that.

Most Christians hold the Jewish tradition of Baby dedication, this is where
the Pastor askes a blessing over the baby and the parents. The Pastor
typicaly asks the parents to commit their child to God and raising the child
in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. This is not a saramony to say that
the child now has faith in Christ, but that the parents will raise the child
in a Christian home with the knowledge of God.
