Everyone,
Thought I’d share this with the list. I wrote a poem today, which is not something I do very often. Here it is:
Meaning
A sky with clouds too numerous to count.
The ocean vast, the waves which ebb and flow.
And so it is, the world comprised of thought,
The essence of the life we've come to know.
In all these thoughts that form this endless dream,
Someone may ask if meaning they may hold.
“Is there a god who cares what happens here?
Or are we left in a universe so cold?”
What is this meaning that you ask of life?
Where may it be discovered in this world?
Meaning: so empty yet so sought;
'Tis easier to just let life unfold.
Do not identify with arising thoughts,
For thoughts the source of suffering and of fear—
Belief of self as separate from the world;
This body, mind, and emotions mine appear.
In truth no separate self can e'er be found;
Only awareness can I see within.
No separation 'twixt the world and me,
But only union has there ever been.
For meaning to exist in life there must
Be a separate self to whom it may be applied.
Awareness reigns supreme in the formless world.
'Tis here that I eternally abide.
