Hi Justin and all, well, this could be a long answer. I'll try to be brief. And I don't mean to be controversial. The Charismatic Movement actually began in the Catholic Church first, and was heavily influenced by some Pentecostal pastors like David Duplessy. The Holy Spirit came upon some people. This was manifested by people speaking in tongues and other signs and miracles. This movement spread to other denominations, one of the biggest manifestations of this was in the Episcopal Church. This is very brief, but there are some books I recommend, nine O'clock in the Morning by Dennis and Rita Bennett, and They Speak with Other Tongues by John and Elizabeth Sherrill. I am asking please, we don't need to debate the validity of speaking in tongues and all, it just causes division. I alm  responded to Justin privately but figured that there might be others who might want !know more about this. You can also read i corinthians 12 through 14.    Blessings,    Debby
