Hello and good day to all my fellow saints of the Most High God, no matter where in this world you happen to reside. I hope that your Sunday is going well or went well, depending on where in this world you happen to reside.
Before I give you the daily thought message for today, here's a brief report on my experience at Calvary Chapel. I took Paratransit to the location, a room in a local branch of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Once I got to the room in question I was shown a seat and, after a little while, the worship music began followed by the message by Pastor Jason Meyerson based on I Corinthians 9:14-21. It was a very good one, God directing him of course. Following this a gentleman in the congregation volunteered to take me home, for which I thanked not only him but also God for putting it in his heart to do this. All in all, a good first impression. Suffice it to say that I'll be back next Sunday morning, Lord willing. If any of you folks would like to listen to some of his past messages, just go to http://www.calvarymorninglight.org and then click on the link where it says "Media" (without the quote marks).
Since some of you have expressed a desire for an occasional Bible poem, today will lay one on you for your consideration. Remember, I need the book and chapter that this poem is based on. Here it is:
As you have started, continue in Christ.
In Him, the fullness of God is sufficed.
Buried in baptism, risen in grace,
Head feeds the body, and keeps it in place.
Now, good people, do any of you know on which Bible book and chapter this poem is based on? If you do, just reply to the list that you received this message on or privately at oilofgladness47 at gmail.com. My thanks to the Gospel Messenger magazine and the late Alvy Ford for doing all this.
And now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe, individually and collectively, in these last days in which we live. Perhaps day after tomorrow I'll give you the answer, to give you time to read it and look up the relevant Scripture on which this little poem is based. Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
