[Faith-talk] discussion regarding tarrot and astrology

I want to clarify, and Danielle I’m not saying you think this but this is a common misconception: astrology does not only come down to your Sun sign. I’m a Virgo, but there are so many other elements. There’s your rising sign (Libra for me), your sign for each of the seven (or ten, depending on your tradition) astrological planets, and the sign each house is in. Then there’s the aspect each planet makes with other planets.

Danielle, I’m not sure what you mean when you say your communication sign is Mercury. Mercury is a planet, not a sign. You could mean Mercury is in Gemini, the sign of communication. Or that Mercury is in your 3rd house, the house of communication. But Mercury, which is itself the communicative planet, doesn’t mean anything until we put it into the context of its sign and house. For instance, Mercury in Sagittarius in your 7th house could mean that you are particularly bad at communicating with others, especially romantic partners. If on top of that, Mercury was square to Mars, it could mean that you occasionally have violent outbursts. Just an example. If however Mercury were in Gemini in your 10th house, it would mean that in your career, you easily expressed your point to others. If say Mercury had a positive aspect to Uranus, your ideas are unique, but still often listened to.

Here you see two cases, with the same planet of Mercury, with completely different interpretations. The first was in your love life, which the 7th house rules. The second was in your career, which is your 10th house. The first was negative because Mercury was in its fall, because Mercury is never happy in Sagittarius. The second was positive because Mercury was in its domicile, because it is always happy in Gemini.

Anyway that’s just an example. There are so many different elements, because really no two people are the same. It is doubtful you would ever find two charts that were exactly the same. My wife and I have very similar charts, which is really astonishing since we were born two years apart, but still there is much that is different and it shows in our personality.

Your chart is the complete and total depiction of your entire life and how you approach the world. The more you study it, the more you learn about yourself. It is quite a nuanced system.
