The first quote is definitely interesting. My husband and I
visited Europe this spring. One night, we had a typical Italian
dinner. This meal would, our hosts told us, usually be served on
a Sunday afternoon for family and friends. The meal began with
pasta, then one by one other courses arrived. Of course, we had
wine as we ate, (or I did). My husband doesn't drink much after
his weight loss surgery. Our hosts told us that this meal would
normally take from 3 to 5 hours to eat, because there would be
pauses between courses, and this was the time that a family would
gather for conversation and relaxation. It was an amazing meal.
We ate it in like 2 hours. I'd much rather have had the meal in
3 to 5. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon with
family and friends, after Mass in the morning. Blessings,
Debby
