Hello and a good day to most of you on a Saturday as this message is
being written, and a good Lord's Day to you in Australia, New Zealand
and the Seychelles. I hope that your day is going well, by God's
matchless grace and His providential care.
Well folks, the Verizon technician, after spending at least 90 minutes
out in the hot sun, just told me that all he had to do was replace an
"old wire." Not being that cognizant of phone repairs, I'll just leave
that to him and, more importantly, to God. To use a somewhat
contemporary expression, God "had my back" all the while. Thanks for
those of you who prayed for the situation.
I've a somewhat short poem to post for today which I found in a book
entitled "Brighten Up Your Corner." The author's name was not given,
but the poem is entitled "Friendship Flower," rendered as follows:
Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.
And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.
And there you have it for today. Hope the reading, pondering and
meditating brought you all a blessing today.
Don't forget that tomorrow in this space will be the weekly Bible
trivia game poem, then based on a passage from the New Testament, so
get those Bible thinking caps ready.
Until then may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob just keep us safe,
individually and collectively, in these last days in which we live.
Your Christian friend and brother, Paul
