Hello and greetings to all of you on this Lord's Day. If you read this
message before you set out for your various houses of worship today, I
hope that the time with our Lord and your fellow congregants will be a
fruitful one. On the other hand, I pray that you and yours will
receive a good word from the Lord as imparted to you by your pastors
and/or Sunday school teachers and, with that knowledge in your hearts,
minds and souls, that you will apply the same to your individual lives
as the gracious Holy Spirit leads. On the other hand if you read this
message when you get home I pray the same has applied to you.
Here are today's two quotes for your consideration, pondering and reflection.
It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible
to find it elsewhere. Agnes Replier, American essayist, 1858-1960
(quote compiler's comment: I think that, if we look hard enough,
happiness can be found elsewhere as evidenced by the number of great
people I have come to know over the years, especially online. So I
don't quite know what Agnes meant here).
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the
strong. Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948 (quote compiler's comment: For the
Christian at least we are commanded to forgive by none other than our
Savior, Jesus Christ, whether or not we are weak or strong, so I can't
figure out where Gandi is coming from here).
And that, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of our
heavenly King-Father and saints of the Most High God, are your quotes
for today. Don't forget that, later on in this space will be the
weekly Bible trivia game poem for you, then based on a book and chapter
of the New Testament. Until then or until tomorrow when, Lord willing
more quotes will be posted, I am your obedient servant of the One who
lived an earthly existence, died to pay for your sins and mine, and now
lives forever to bring us His salvation and peace, Oil of Gladness.
