[Faith-talk] New Experience On the Horizon

Hi Linda:
Actually I've seen most of the restaurant menus posted on the NFB website in Word format under the convention link. Sarah and I are both busily filling in our calendar for Convention Week, and I can't help but think that having a clone would be really helpful. Perhaps we can share a meal sometime next week. Nobody knows better than me that tables for one are no fun.

Hi Kevin,

It's a bit overwhelming, but you'll meet a lot of nice people and hear lots of enthusiastic noise! I don't think you'll get stuck in the bird cage. In fact, you'll hardly hear the birds once the crowd gets there. Allow yourself plenty of time to get where you're going. The elevators will be crowded, except on the last three mornings when you're going to devotions! Hahaha! I'm sure you'll go to at least the one at which Sarah is speaking, and I'm sure you'll attend the Communities of Faith Division meeting, at which she is also speaking, so I'll meet you, to which I am looking forward.

Since we now can have the agenda in electronic format, I download it ahead of time and mark the time for the meetings I need to be attending. I also go through the exhibitors list and mark the tables I'd like to check out. That's tricky this year, since products are not mentioned.

The last time I checked, the Braille hotel restaurant menus weren't posted. I like to get them as well, so I can look them over and maybe decide where and what I'd like to eat. Speaking of which, I'm alone in my room this year, and am looking for people who'd like a meal companion. My roommate usually ate with me a few times, but she is not able to attend this year due to being in a rehab center. She, Evelyn Weckerly, would appreciate any prayers on her behalf. She feels badly that I have to pay for the whole room, but she has a heart velve that's not keeping up.

Anyway, Kevin, I'll be praying for you. I'm sure you'll make many new friends and eat lots of good food!

Blessings,

Linda

Subject: [Faith-talk] New Experience On the Horizon

Next week I will be attending my first ever NFB convention. I am no stranger to conventions, as I have attended several national conventions of the, um, other blindness organizations. Even still, I have the distinct impression next week will be a completely new and different experience for me. I am asking for, yes, prayers next week, prayers that all will go smoothly and that I won't wind up getting caught in the bird cage in the lobby. Anyway, I am looking forward to it, albeit with a bit of anxiety thrown in. Hope to meet at least some of you there.
