Hi Kevin!
I attended my first NFB convinsion in 2001.
I felt the same way, but it was the opposite of what I thought. I was not surrounded by people, but people were very friendly, and I received a lot of help and advice on being a teacher, and I met some people there, who were into math as much as I am LOL! You will love it, and it will go by so fast!

Next week I will be attending my first ever NFB convention. I am no stranger
to conventions, as I have attended several national conventions of the, um,
other blindness organizations. Even still, I have the distinct impression
next week will be a completely new and different experience for me. I am
asking for, yes, prayers next week, prayers that all will go smoothly and
that I won't wind up getting caught in the bird cage in the lobby. Anyway, I
am looking forward to it, albeit with a bit of anxiety thrown in. Hope to
meet at least some of you there.
