[Faith-talk] Dilemma

Just some thoughts here. Even in a church where everything is in English it takes time and practice to know what to do when. Another thing to know about the Bible and Catholics. Before the printing press, Bibles were hand-copied by monks who worked diligently to make sure that every detail was correct. They often used great artistic skill for ibblustrations. So Bibles were not that readily available for people to read. We are encouraged to study our Bibles, just like other churches encourage their congregations. Many Catholic churches have bible studies. What we as Catholics are not free to do is to go outside the boundaries of the Magisterium, or the Teaching Church. We have a hierarchy and most churches have leadership, too. That's all I will say on this subject. If any of you sincerely care to know about the Catholic Church, write me off list and I can give you some books to read. If not, that's fine too. I'm just tired of hearing how we don't follow the Bible, this and that. I understand why people who not this list who were Jewish no longer are. I believe that preaching to people and making them feel bad about the choices they have made is not what the Faith in —munities Division is all about, or I should say, what I thought it was all about. I also believe that this list is being misused in some ways. I do not believe that it is right for me to try and evangelize other people on the list, and I won't do it. I just have a hard time believing that some of the things that have been posted on this list would be things that should be posted on an NFB-sponsored list. I feel like I'm hitting my head against a wall when I write like this. But I am asking all of you, and especially you Linda to pray about what I am saying. If you want a list that is a list where Christians can post about their spiritual lives, etc. then I think a different list should be formed that is not en an NFB-sponsored network. I have thought about forming a list that would just be for blind Catholics, but I really don't have the technical know-how or desire to do that. I owned a list once and it was a good list for a long, long time. But it's a hassle to be a list owner, and all that. I was also a moderator, and I don't envy Linda that task. I do hope that the leadership of this Division at least considers what I am saying here.     Blessings,    Debby
