I haven't tried much with catholic churches; the one I did attend for a few months some summer ago I could walk to. Most of my problems have been with non-Catholic.

Well, I have had horrible experiences with evangical and other types of churches, so let's not point fingers at the Catholic Church in particular here, David. My husband and I ajtended a particular church for years, and never really felt like we made friends, er were particularly welcomed. Especially him. But we have been astending our Cathelic church here for three years, already have friends, are involved very much in the life of the church, and both of us feel welcomed and comfortable. We teach third graders, we sing in the choir, I belong to the Altar Society, and Craig has been asked several times to join the Knights of Columbus. I think that it very much depends on a lot of factors. I think a lot of this has to do with the changing times and our changing culture. In the 1970's when I first accepted the Lord, I never had trouble getting rides to church, to otheo activities, or anything. People tended to hang out longer after church and not rush away. I'm sure, somewhere there have been socialogical studies done about this. People tend to be less friendly, less civil to each other. I'm sorry for those of you who have received little or no help from churches. It's very sad that our culture, and the seeming busyness of life today has taken its toll on churches. Blessings, Debby

New Testament like churches, non-denominational churches, will bend over backward for you, because they really live out the scriptures. Many Catholics are there out of guilt, or because it looks good to their community or family.

I think it's interesting people the article special needs special needs special needs it has every thing but lightness and yes a different special needs his mental and physical situation why this is a whole Nother beast. And people tend to forget that. Hence why we have to pay crap load the money for him though.

I can't afford to pay for paratransit to take me to choir practice, in fact, when I audition and was asked to be in the choir choir director told me that I was not going to be able to ask anyone for help in transportation in the choir in fact his words were don't expect anyone to help you get to and from from the choir. And I'm sorry, that's a little different.
