Yes,
I have a lot of fun worshiping the Lord, and being encouraged by others to live the Christian life, but I am talking about people enjoying the instruments in the band, thing it is cool to wear heavy metel shirts, and the like. I once was in a church where everyone lit up a smoke right after the service. I start coughing LOL! The entire room was full of smoke LOL! This was before smoking was banned inside. People swore and said we are just sinners. And There was even beer at parties in the church LOL! People were getting drunk right in the church building LOL! The church was call Xenos, the latton word for fellowship. Bible studies were lead by college students who had just come to Christ. They told the others that it was okay to have sex while just dating all you want, and if you loved each other, sex was fine even if you were just dating.

Well, you should be happy to attend so fun is ok. There's a big difference between having fun because you spent time with the Lord and later enjoy chatting & coffee with someone who also cherishes the Lord vs. The rush of adrenaline that comes with a rock band concert. That's also a reason I am very picky about praise and worship songs. If you can't figure out the lyrics then it probably could be saying anything. There's a very different feeling when the Lord stimulates your heart versus the pump of adrenaline. You remember the feeling from the Lord a lot longer!

That's why any church that doesn't have communion every week is off my list. I feel so close to him, just as Debi says.

The trends of the world has entered the church of God. I have been to many large wild churches over the years where there is a rock band. It is just like a consert, and I do not feel close to the Lord or sense the Holy Spirit at all. I have asked many melennials why they like their church, and they say it is a lot of fun. God does not want us to go to church, because it is fun LOL!

I went there to vote one time and man oh man. I had to have serious guidance to get even to the polling place.

Whatever makes a millennial happy I guess but my question is in the end are these people showing up for the right reasons and are they really getting the message so that they live their lives for the Lord rather than for selfish reasons? Some days I wonder if they go out there for a date hook up, A job connection, or some Starbucks Joe. Seems like there are too many fickle people that just leave church, family, or friends for selfish reasons these days. There always good reasons to leave like abuse and such, but if you don't like the music that's playing or you don't like how somebody makes the coffee at church doesn't mean you want to walk out and find another church. It just means you need to be more participatory and make the coffee yourself some times. I know people that aren't disable that just left the church because they didn't like the fact that a congregation didn't have a certain type of program for their kids. If your kids would enjoy children's choir and your church doesn't have it, then tell the congregation and help make that happen! We've been talking about generations changing and this is just something that bugs me about our culture.
