Read 1 Timothy 3 and Tidus one about the qualifications of elders, it says must be the husband of but one wife. Not the other way around. God speaks directly through the writers, so God himself said that.

But one other way to look at that question is this: Jesus already shattered some of the cultural barriers. He talked to the Samaritan woman at the well, which was quite amazing, actually. So if Jesus had really wanted women to be pastors he would have picked women to be part of his apostles. Just my thoughts.    Debby
