[Faith-Talk] Merry Christmas!

Sending my belated greetings! Joyeux Noël! (Merry Christmas, in French).

Did a couple duets at our Christmas Eve service, and finished a sweater for my sister-in-law, to the accompaniment of my second-favorite Christmas movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. (BTW, my first favorite is the Patrick Stuart version of “A Christmas Carol,” because, like any true conversion, you see Scrooge change radically under the influence of Marley and the three other spirits who visited him; it invariably brings me to tears, at the end. Then, finally wrapped all the family gifts.

Had a nice family gathering yesterday, and because I’m usually elected for the grace, I decided to do something a little different, to remind us all of the reason for celebrating Christmas and possibly stimulate some thinking toward spiritual directions; I led us in singing “O Come, All Ye Faithful”. I started a bit too high for some, but I think everyone still had fun with it.

May the grace of Christ undergird us all in 2019,

Sandra
“Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.”
― C.S. Lewis
