What do Biblical scholars have to say about the Amelekites? As 
far as I can guess, they were hereditary enemies of
israil. Sometimes they seem to be real and sometimes they are 
used as a metaphor. Surprisingly, Wikipedia does not have
a page on Amelekites or Amelek.
