[Faith-Talk] getting involved in church

Oh, yeah, Ericka, thanks for reminding me—when we are serving Communion by having everyone line up and walk to us individually, that is when I get to do it—at the altar, it’s harder, so I don’t do that one. I also serve as liturgist about 6 times yearly, with my Braille NIV—occasionally doing extemp opening and illumination prayer, sometimes finding some I have Brailled off the computer beforehand. So, you just really need to either find a church that is already open to letting us serve, or that’s open-hearted enough to be swayed if they’re a little trepidatious at first. I think writing the series on blindness for the newsletter helped open some hearts to hanging out with me in general, so a presentation or writing about blindness can also change fallow ground.

No worries about the letter, BTW—that can be a special Christmas present this year, ha, ha! Whenever you have time, I will be thrilled to get it!
