Hello everyone,
I am truly saddened to hear this news. I have only known Tom for about 2 and
a half years. I had a lot of love and respect for Tom because although we
did not share the same faith, he was always kind to me. We have grown closer
over this time and had great and honest conversations about our beliefs, the
NFB, and other topics of interest.
When I conveyed the news to other Muslims who knew Tom it was clear the
positive impact he had on so many people. One sister mentioned how kind of a
man he was. She spoke about being a former Braille student of his when
attending the Colorado center. She said that she was a new Muslim at the
time and Tom grabbed a Braille Qur'an from the shelf in his classroom and
said "Here, now you can practice Braille by reading this".
He will definitely be missed. May God bless his family and friends with ease
and patience through this difficult time, ameen.

Tom passed away just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon, August 29. At this
time there are not any plans made for his memorial service.
