Now that you mention it, I remember for a long time ago finding that these
study Bible files are too big and the BS6 really drags. Too bad!

Hi, Charlene,

I have the Selvas BS6 braille tablet, and, unfortunately, the Daisy format
of the Bible, since it is so large, gets stuck and freezes. The tablet
can't seem to handle that large a download. It might work on other braille
devices.

I ran into the same problem when trying to download a megadictionary braille
fille from Seeing Hands.

Plus, and probably more to the point, when actually searching with Daisy
already my download preference, the only Bible that showed was the New
Jerusalem New Testament, and that couldn't download.

You can download from Bookshare in daisy. It just depends on how much the
daisy version has been marked up whether it will be helpful to have the
daisy format.

Hmmmmm! I hadn't thought of Daisy, thanks for the idea. I pretty much
download in epub, and download any teaching materials for the community
Bible Study group in BRF, as it shows the page numbering.

Judy, have you figured out any way to make any of the Bookshare study Bibles
work efficiently? Yesterday, I was looking at the Iphone app (there's one
for Android as well) for the Daily Living Study Bible but I'm hesitant to
buy it since I haven't been able to find any information about whether it is
accessible or not. As for the Bookshare formats, Epub would have been my
guess for the most accessible, too, have you tried the daisy version as
well?

Hi Everyone,

I downloaded an ebook from Bookshare, the Amplified Study Bible.

I've actually made it into a folder containing each book's intro, the book
itself, cross references, annotations, and a couple of the indexes. I did
that, as I downloaded the epub copy with no links access to other parts of
the Bible.

However, when exploring the topics index, the topics only present themselves
as a word list. In a standard ebook, each topic would link to verses having
to do with that topic.

Questions: Does Bookshare have a format that would work with ebook links?

If not, do any of you have experience reading ebooks, and in what format
would they be accessible?

I'd like to try to find out before spending money on one, to find out it's
just an image file I can't navigat.

BTW, while Kindle books are very readable, links are hit and miss, even with
the great TalkBack options available accessing links anywhere else.

Thank for any ideas you can give me.

Judy
