[Faith-Talk] The 2024 Election

Hi, Doug,
I believe the American church, in general, over the years, has been too silent in the political arena. Yes, our first commission is to reach people with the Gospel of Christ, but we have fallen down in equipping people with enough Bible life application to stand against unbiblical policies.
The Christian of today needs to be gutsy, because satan is throwing everything he can at us, because he knows his time is short.
I, too, am concerned about the election, but we should be praying God put a stumbling block against the evil, be praying 2 Chronicles 7:14. We can't afford to major in the minors, we need to stand together.
And my heart goes out to those men and women of God who are working in our government, in all their various capacities, shining the light of Jesus wherever they can. The kids in the schools who dare to speak up in the classrooms of schools with unconscionable policies. The parents and grandparents who stand up in school board meetings and city councils. We need to be taking part in those as we have opportunity.
But, however the Lord leads, the idea is to stand against evil in the way he leads one to do.

I think this list is for discussion of how best to include blind people in communities of faith, not for
discussing how to vote in a political landscape. Discussions of actual elements of faith, as opposed to the
accessibility or attitudes we encounter, will no doubt come up from time to time but are more likely to
derail than help us. However I do not speak for list owners or moderators.

Neither candidate is a Christian. I wish we had better choices, but I just cannot vote for someone who is not pro-life and who does not support Israel.

It's very clear to me he's not a Christian and doesn't stand for anything
that I do or of what I know of what Christ wants us to be like and I still
can't believe or I can't believe of everything I've heard and read that
anyone would still vote for this person yet I know many many are and a
selection is going to be much much closer than I would like it to be and I
just can't believe it
